The Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council functions to highlight the quality of Malaysian rubber products and the country’s competitive advantages in production capability. Our U.S. office, located in Washington D.C., serves as an education and information center focusing particularly on natural rubber latex gloves. The office works closely with standard and regulatory authorities, such as ASTM and FDA and with other governmental organizations, trade, consumer and public interest groups.

Standard Malaysian Glove (SMG) certified gloves are high-quality, low-protein, low-powder and powder-free latex examination gloves, which provide excellent barrier protection while minimizing latex allergy risk. Developed in consultation with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and other relevant authorities, the SMG is a quality control program that ensures the manufacture of gloves that comply with stringent technical specifications.
