Biometric Associates, Inc. (BAI) is a developer and manufacturer of contact and
contactless (RF) based biometric authentication and digital signaturing systems
such as self-authenticating fingerprint enabled smartcards used to ensure authorized user identity. Particular attention is given to compliance with standards including ISO/IEC 7816, ISO/14443, ANSI X.509, FIPS 140-2, Government Smart Card Interoperability Specification (GSC-IS); relevant HIPPA and Privacy Legislation.

BAI assured biometric identification applications range from:

• Physical facility access control to logical desktop and network applications access control;
• PKI based Single sign-on capability to Laptop access and stored data protection;
• Identity cards to secure electronic transaction payment authorization;
• integrated medical systems access to Common Access Card (CAC) implementations.

In addition to biometric authentication smart cards, the company also produces authentication subsystem component modules to OEM’s. BAI also provides contract research and development services for applications access control integration and securing physical devices, such as the Personal Data Assistant (PDA), resident data and communications.

Current development activities encompass multiple biometrics including DNA for hazardous substance detection and radio frequency based authentication implementations. The Company’s technical staff are all experienced application programmers, hardware designers, electrical engineers and cryptography experts. BAI was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in the Washington DC area.
