Don W. Dickson

In May, 1997, Mr. Dickson co-founded Market*Access, providing professional sales, marketing and event management services to the federal IT community. In January of 2002, Mr. Dickson formed the Homeland Defense Journal. The Journal is published monthly and now has over 40,000 readers.

A native of New York City, Mr. Dickson earned a BA in International Relations and Economics and completed studies toward an MS in Computer Science at American University. While in college, he formed his own company, providing public relations and consulting services to national associations based in the Washington, D.C. area.

In 1967, he joined AT&T Long Lines Department in the management development program. As sales supervisor, and later as regional staff manager, he directed AT&T sales and marketing programs in support of corporate clients. He completed extensive AT&T training in advanced voice, data and network communications resulting in his selection as instructor for AT&T executive briefing centers in New York and Chicago.

In 1969, he joined RCA Computer Systems Division where he managed the marketing of computers for military communications and message switching applications. He was a member of the sales team that won the largest single order for RCA commercial computers in the company's history.

In 1972, Mr. Dickson joined CSC where he held a broad range of management positions over 20 years within the Systems Group, a $1.2 billion business unit of CSC. In 1984 Mr. Dickson was promoted to Vice President of Program Development. Mr. Dickson served as Vice President, Program Development for eight years.

In 1992, Mr. Dickson joined the consulting firm of Federal Sources, Incorporated, where he led the development of the very successful "Winning in Government" series of training courses, which addressed the federal evaluation and source selection process for "best value" contracting.

Mr. Dickson's primary area of expertise is the federal acquisition and source selection process, Best Value selection techniques and the management of client marketing and sales activities.

Mr. Dickson has served a full term on the Board of Directors, AFCEA International.
