Don W. Dickson
President
In
May, 1997, Mr. Dickson co-founded Market*Access, providing professional
sales, marketing and event management services to the federal IT community.
In January
of 2002, Mr. Dickson formed the Homeland Defense Journal.
The Journal is published monthly and now has over 40,000 readers.
A
native of New York City, Mr. Dickson earned a BA in International Relations
and Economics and completed studies toward an MS in Computer Science at
American University. While in college, he formed his own company, providing
public relations and consulting services to national associations based
in the Washington, D.C. area.
In
1967, he joined AT&T Long Lines Department in the management development
program. As sales supervisor, and later as regional staff manager, he
directed AT&T sales and marketing programs in support of corporate
clients. He completed extensive AT&T training in advanced voice, data
and network communications resulting in his selection as instructor for
AT&T executive briefing centers in New York and Chicago.
In
1969, he joined RCA Computer Systems Division where he managed the marketing
of computers for military communications and message switching applications.
He was a member of the sales team that won the largest single order for
RCA commercial computers in the company's history.
In
1972, Mr. Dickson joined CSC where he held a broad range of management
positions over 20 years within the Systems Group, a $1.2 billion business
unit of CSC. In 1984 Mr. Dickson was promoted to Vice President of Program
Development. Mr. Dickson served as Vice President, Program Development
for eight years.
In
1992, Mr. Dickson joined the consulting firm of Federal Sources, Incorporated,
where he led the development of the very successful "Winning in Government"
series of training courses, which addressed the federal evaluation and
source selection process for "best value" contracting.
Mr.
Dickson's primary area of expertise is the federal acquisition and source
selection process, Best Value selection techniques and the management
of client marketing and sales activities.
Mr.
Dickson has served a full term on the Board of Directors, AFCEA International.

has more than two years experience in Web Application Design/Programming
& Database Development. As a Director, Information Systems & E-Commerce
Business Development, his responsibilities include:
Specification, Development, Implementation and optimization of company's
web properties, writing software code based on functional specification
and technical design.
He also oversees the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation,
testing/modification of company's computer systems/programs.
He also administers data stored in database systems, including backup
and recovery, space management and access control. Installing, configuring
and maintaining database server software.
Mr. Sharma monitors and tune company's database systems for appropriate
performance and availability, and assists others with database application
performance tuning.
He also assists in the design and implementation of data views for the
support of end user reporting, His responsibilities also include troubleshooting,
recovery, tuning of the database, auditing activities, and resource utilization.
Mr. Sharma has a Masters Degree in Information Technology and a Bachelors
Degree in Computer Applications from Punjab University, Chandigarh, India.

Brian Lake

Brian Lake joined Market*Access International in March 2007 and is
responsible for the logistical details for current and new conferences and
events. He is also tasked with expanding the breadth and scope of the
conferences and workshops that Market*Access offers government and
commercial stakeholders. In addition, Mr. Lake is an editorial
contributor for Homeland Defense Journal.
Mr.
Lake’s primary areas of expertise is his extensive knowledge of the
government IT communications sector combined with an in-depth understanding
of the homeland security and justice and public safety industries.
Prior to joining Market*Access International, Mr. Lake worked at Merritt
Group, a high-tech public relations firm, developing communications
strategies for clients that provided services, technologies and solutions
for federal, state and local government agencies. He also specialized in
media relations and served as a communications liaison between his clients
and strategic media outlets.
Mr. Lake earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from the
University of Florida.

Kimberley
Hovda joined Market*Access International in February 2005 and is responsible
for managing the details and logistics for existing conferences and events.
Ms. Hovda's primary area of expertise is her extensive knowledge of federal
IT contracts and grants. Prior to joining Market*Access International,
Ms. Hovda served as Product Manager of Grants Products at INPUT. She produced,
launched and managed Federal Grant Opportunity Subscription products.
She managed analysts that were responsible for analyzing primary and secondary
research of federal grant programs and awards. She was responsible for
the development, content, customer satisfaction, training, and marketing.
Ms. Hovda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from George
Mason University.

Laura
Johnson joined Market*Access International in October 2003 and is responsible
for expanding the company's training product line and managing the details
and logistics for current and new conferences and events. Ms. Johnson
also manages the company's private training department and works with
clients to create customized workshops tailored to their needs.
Ms. Johnson's primary area of expertise is her extensive knowledge of
the meetings management industry combined with her in-depth product development
skills, including researching content and marketing conferences geared
to both commercial and Federal clients.
Prior to joining Market*Access International, Ms. Johnson served as Manager,
Training Programs for ABS Consulting and provided overall leadership in
planning, budgeting, producing, and administering 175 courses nationwide
annually, as well as achieving marketing targets. She managed all staff
related to program development, course planning and administration, course
production, and hotel contracting. She was responsible for the strategic
direction, management, and growth of departments training seminars and
for maintaining course content on e-commerce website. Her responsibilities
also included speaker selection and liaison, marketing oversight, and
sales and quality performance.
Ms. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from
University of Maryland, College Park.

Dawn Gosselin
joined Market*Access International in September 2006 and is responsible
for managing the day-to-day activities of our clients. Ms. Gosselin’s
primary role is to ensure client deliverables are timely and quality is
maintained. Ms. Gosselin brings extensive experience with conferences,
events management, advertising, marketing communications and corporate
promotions to Market*Access International. She has 16 years experience
in government technology marketing and is quite knowledgeable of the technology
community.
Prior to joining
Market*Access International, Ms. Gosselin served as Marketing Communications
Specialist for Apptis® where she managed their trade shows, events,
corporate promotional items and association participation. Previously,
Ms. Gosselin served as Director for STG Marketing Communications where
she was responsible for operations, media, finance, account management
and database management and marketing programs.

Debbie Hoffman

Deborah Hoffman has more than 20 years’ experience in the federal government
contracting information industry. Prior to accepting a consulting position
with Market*Access International, Hoffman served as Director of American
Graduate University’s School of Contracting and Acquisition. In this role,
she was involved with the Masters of Acquisition Management and Master
of Contract Management degree programs, updating content, developing new
course offerings, and ensuring training aligned with the needs of the
government acquisition workforce. Hoffman was previously director of the
Government Contracting Institute, providing training, newsletters, and
online services for the contracting industry. She has been a guest speaker
on contracting, procurement and defense conversion issues at GCI conferences,
E-Gov, and the CNN World Economic Congress.
Ms. Hoffman
has a B.A. in Political Science from Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove,
Pa, and has completed Masters Degree work in International Development
at American University, Washington, D.C. She has a Certificate in Business
Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park, Md.
